Senator Menendez Scandal: “Wait? The Papers Say the Boss Did What?!”

A couple days ago, I wrote this article for Slate, trying to explain to people what’s happening inside the office of Senator Menendez office as allegations continue to swirl about him and a liaison with underage Dominican Republic prostitutes.

Just horrible place to be as a staffer.

I’m also incredibly shocked at the completely vicious comments below the story. I mean, these are all allegations. Nothing has been proven. Yet the commenters want to string up an elected official if any anonymous loudmouth who can string together five words in English says that a Senator has done something.

Scary.

Anyways, thanks to the multiple offices who helped me on this. And here’s the story:

Pity the poor Senate staffers when chaos descends on Capitol Hill.

Democrat or Republican, all Capitol Hill staffers agree on one thing: It’s terrifying to see your boss’s name in the same sentence with the words “underage Dominican Republic prostitutes.”

There’s just no upside there.
